Staff Accommodation

HTM offers a variety of clean, comfortable and affordable accommodation options for all of our seasonal staff. Unlike many other resorts around the world, we will be able to provide a bed for all staff that are employed with us. All of our accommodations are fully furnished and include all bedding, communal kitchens, living areas, bathroom and laundry facilities. We have a dedicated Staff Accommodation team, including live-in lodge managers in larger locations, who all help ensure our staff stay comfortable and have a safe home away from home while they enjoy their time in Niseko. Staff are welcome to arrive in our accommodation earlier than their contract start date to get settled in a prepare themselves for an exciting winter season ahead of them.

Our staff accommodation rental rates are heavily subsidized and include all utilities such as electricity, gas and WiFi included, and comes with basic communal cleaning supplies, rubbish bags and toilet paper. For the Winter 24-25 season, monthly rates start from just ¥5,000 per month quad share and ¥15,000 twin share (or double for couples). Limited numbers of single rooms are also available for seasonal staff in senior roles.

Our staff accommodation options are split 50/50 between the main ski village in Hirafu and the main town center of Kutchan. These areas are connected by free staff shuttle buses provided by HTM, with the main purpose being to assist staff living in Kutchan to commute to and from work as well as allow staff living in Hirafu to access the supermarkets and shops and other facilities in Kutchan. The location of your staff accommodation will depend on which position and department you work for within HTM.

Tajiri

Our largest staff accommodation, offering a mix of twin bunk rooms and single rooms, along with spacious communal areas and a large shared kitchen, making it a great option for those looking for a social and energetic living environment.

Located in the centre of Kutchan, Tajiri is conveniently situated directly across from a supermarket and within a 5-minute walk to local restaurants, bars, karaoke spots, and Kutchan Station. The HTM staff shuttle also stops right outside the building for easy access to work and town.

Kurimisou

A hostel-style staff accommodation located in a prime spot in Kutchan. It’s just a short walk to a wide variety of restaurants, bars, karaoke spots, and Kutchan Station, with a supermarket located nearby for daily essentials—ideal for those looking to make the most of their time off in town.

The building features twin and quad bunk rooms, a shared kitchen, and communal dining and living areas that encourage a social and lively atmosphere. The HTM staff shuttle stop is also just a short walk away, making commuting to work easy and convenient.

Shizenkan Lodge and Backpacker

Located in the Izumikyo area of Hirafu, these hostel-style staff accommodations are within easy walking distance to Hirafu Village’s shops, bars, and restaurants, as well as the ski lifts—making them a great option for those who want to live affordably, be close to the action and make the most of their time in the resort.

The buildings feature mostly quad bunk rooms, with a few twin-share options, and offer basic shared facilities that support a social and communal living experience. These accommodations are budget-friendly, making them ideal for those who prioritize location and atmosphere over luxury.

Hirafu Townhouses

Our Ezofuji and Midtown townhouses are three story townhouse units offering twin share and single room options. Situated in the Izumikyo area of Hirafu, these accommodations are a popular choice for those who like having the best of both worlds of enjoying the energetic atmosphere of Hirafu Village, and then returning to a more quieter living environment.
