Winter Season - Staff Accommodation Assistant & House Manager

Job Description
The role:
Working with the Staff Accommodation Supervisor, Staff Accommodation Assistants help with the set-up, snow clearing and maintenance of staff accommodation for our international team, and each Assistant will also hold the position of House Manager for one of our larger dorm-style accommodations.
Staff Accommodation Assistant Duties
- Assist with the pre-season set-up of accommodation.
- Conduct regular snow clearing at all staff accommodations and for staff accommodation vehicles.
- Deliver supplies across accommodations.
- Inspect maintenance issues and liaise with relevant people to repair them as per guidelines.
- Respond to call-outs and undertake simple maintenance tasks.
- Perform daily inspections of properties, rubbish stations, and shuttle stops.
- Assist with admin office tasks such as managing emails and Asana.
- Suggest accommodation improvements to enhance facilities.
- Promote a positive atmosphere within the accommodations.
House Manager Duties
- Introduce residents to the accommodation and fellow tenants.
- Help tenants learn and follow their duties such as ensuring correct garbage disposal and participation in cleaning.
- Organise house meetings and pass on messages from Staff Accommodation.
- Create, participate in, and enforce a cleaning roster.
- Oversee parking facilities and ensure unregistered cars are reported.
- Act as a role model for the household.
- Manage noise control and enforce curfews.
- Ensure there are no overnight guests in the accommodation.
- Resolve small issues and disagreements within the house.
- Enforce check-out and inspection procedures
Job Requirements
- A Japanese drivers licence or International Drivers Permit.
- Willingness to work and see the job done right, no matter the situation.
- Strong organisational skills to organise self and others.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, especially with international staff.
- Comfortable managing minor household issues and ensuring peace in the home.
- Ability to work autonomously and look for ways for things to be improved.
- A desire to see your fellow staff have a great time in Niseko!
- Enjoy a varied workday - able to work inside an office but also work outside doing manual task such as snow clearing, cleaning of buildings and moving of furniture.
Job Particulars
Pay Rate
- ¥1,550 - ¥1,800 per hour
- 25% overtime rate for hours worked above prescribed working hours for the month
- 25% late night work rate for work between 10pm and 5am.
Employment Period
- October 2025 - April 2026
- Fully paid training at the start of the season.
Hours
- Generally 5 days per week, around 40 hours per week.

- If you do not need a pass, you will be offered a bonus payment of ¥45,000.
Travel Support Bonus
- ¥50,000 travel cost support bonus upon contract completion for new staff or ¥80,000 for returning staff.

- Subsidised staff accommodation available in Hirafu or Kutchan with all utilities, basic supplies and WiFi included.
- For staff based in Kutchan, there is a free staff shuttle to transport to and from work in Hirafu.
