As the Executive Chef, you will lead the culinary vision and operational excellence across Kumo, Skye Niseko Cafe, An Dining, and FoodWork (Production Kitchen and Bakery). You are responsible for everything from financial reporting and team management to ensuring world-class food quality and integration with hotel operations.

The Role

  • Operations Leadership: Oversee Back of House, Bakery and Production Kitchen operations to ensure consistency in flavor, portion sizes, and presentation.
  • Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor the kitchen and F&B teams, clearly communicating brand standards and managing performance.
  • Financial Management: Handle financial planning, budgeting, food costings, inventory, and performance reporting.
  • Event Planning: Lead the planning and production for special events, parties, and banquets outside of normal daily service.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the Hotel Operations Manager and Company President to develop brand concepts, menus, and pricing.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

    • Experience: Extensive leadership experience in a high-volume Food and Beverage environment.

    • Language: Professional-level English and Japanese language skills to interact with a diverse range of suppliers, customers and staff.

    • Skills: Strong computer skills and the ability to handle difficult customer queries calmly and positively.

    • License: A valid driver’s license is required.

Employment Period: year round

Contract Value: ¥9,400,000 to ¥12,000,000. Plus late night work allowance of 25% between 22:00-05:00.
(The above remuneration will be divided by 14 and paid monthly with two annual bonuses.)

Location: Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan (Skye Niseko and Ki Niseko)

Working Hours:

  • Average 40 hours per week (shift times vary by season)

  • 120 days off per year

  • Sick leave: 5 days

  • Annual paid leave: 20 days
